The Blue Dragon karate club was established in Tenerife in 2001 and is situated in the Island Village complex which is just outside the center of Playa de Las Americas. This purpose built dojo is only used for karate-do and the style of karate practiced is Shotokan following the way of sensei Taiji Kase (1929-2004).

The blue dragon is run by Tim Smith 3rd Dan who has been training for over 20 years in Shotokan karate under sensei Dave Wilkins 6th Dan chief instructor of the Kazoku Kai Shotokan International and Leicester karate club. Dave is also a member of the Shotokan Ryu Kase Ha. We run courses at least twice a year with Sensei Wilkins here in Tenerife and some times with other instructors from Europe.

Tim Smith teaches traditional karate but also teaches the modern day defenses too, he is very much a part of the tradition and discipline of karate. Tim Smith is a recognized grading examiner for the Kazoku Kai Shotokan International which means all grades are recognized.

All Dan grades will be taken under Sensei Dave Wilkins 6th Dan and Lauren Frearson 4th Dan.
